InfoCharts was retired in September 2024
InfoCharts is a React component library created to explore responsive and customisable data visualisations. Its published components include proportional, comparison, bar, area, timeline, map, matrix and compact dashboard charts.
The npm package remains available as a historical and technical record, but the project is not presented here as actively maintained, supported or recommended for new production work.
Accessible data visualisation requires more than a component
A chart library cannot by itself make information accessible. Teams must consider the data, labels, descriptions, colour and contrast, keyboard and screen-reader experience, alternatives such as tables, and whether people can understand and act on the information.
Using the package
Existing users should review the package and its dependencies, pin the version they rely on, and test every visualisation in its real context. New projects should choose a maintained solution that meets their technical and accessibility requirements.
InfoCharts is not a COGAI standard, assessment or assurance tool. It is retained in this archive to document earlier development work and the questions it explored around presenting data.
