AUIG has been archived
The Accessible User Interface Guidelines (AUIG) was an independent reference project founded by Gareth Slinn. It brought together practical information about accessible user-interface design and development.
The final published website version was 1.0.0.4, dated 23 April 2025. The project is retained for historical and open-source reference, but its material is not being maintained as current guidance.
AUIG and COGAI have different purposes
AUIG covered general user-interface accessibility. COGAI focuses specifically on cognitive accessibility, organisational capability, education and the accessibility of AI. AUIG has not been adopted as a COGAI standard or cognitive-accessibility framework.
Using the archived material
The repository remains available so its history, source material, licence and contributor record can be preserved. Because web standards and recommended practices continue to change, examples from the archive should be reviewed against current authoritative material before being used in a live service.
