Coping strategies in systems that were not designed for you

People like us spend years learning how to fit into systems that were never designed with us in mind. We develop coping strategies, create workarounds, and exhaust ourselves trying to meet someone else's definition of "normal". Whilst these approaches are often sincere and well-intentioned, they can unintentionally reinforce the idea that we are the problem. We don't always need another person telling us how to cope better within a system that continually excludes us.

I don't believe people with ADHD are broken, and I don't believe we need fixing. What we need is understanding. That's why I built COGAI... to be a small ray of light in a world that has created too many locked doors and invisible barriers. Not to change people but to help change the environments, expectations, and experiences around them so they work better for everyone.

I'd be interested to hear from others with ADHD, dyslexia, autism, or any other form of neurodivergence. Have you spent more energy adapting yourself to fit the system, or do you think it's time we started redesigning the system itself so it works better for everyone?
